Frequently Asked Questions
How many lessons do we need for our first dance?
General answer – at least 6. More is better. Ultimately, it always depends on individual ability, musicality, rhythm, etc. Also, try to take in to consideration level of complexity of the dance you envision.
Can my parents/wedding party get lessons, too?
Yes, we can have lessons as a group if there is a plan to include the wedding party. Parents will be having Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dances to consider.
What shoes should we wear?
Please try to wear either the shoes you’ll be wearing for your wedding, or something similar.
What if we don’t have a song OR a dance picked out?
No worries. We can help you find a great song if you need one. Even if you don’t know what dance you wish to do. We’ll help find a the right combo of “song and dance” you need.
What if we’ve never had lessons before?
Not a problem. With our instruction style, our clients often find it easier than anticipated…leaving couples with a sense that “they can do this.”
Why does it matter if we have a DJ or a band?
The reason this matters is a band will play your song differently than a recorded track when a DJ plays it. So if you have a band who will be playing your song for your first dance, it’s great to have a conversation with them about tempo and how they’ll be playing it during the entrance and exit. Frankly, that conversation is important with a DJ, too. Remember, it’s your wedding day; they’ll do whatever you ask.
